Leptospirosis is a zoonotic disease with global distribution. A wide range of mammals, including camels, are affected by this disease. The most important side effects of this disease are a severe drop in production, abortion, and kidney damage. The climatic conditions of Jiroft city, located in the south of Kerman, and the considerable breeding of camels, show the necessity of evaluating leptospirosis in camels in this region. Therefore, this study was conducted to diagnose leptospirosis serum by microagglutination test in the camel population of South Kerman. For this purpose, one hundred blood samples were taken from the jugular veins of apparently healthy camels in Jiroft City. After serum isolation, five common serovars of Leptospira interrogans were used for the microagglutination test. The presence of antibodies against at least one serovar of Leptospira interrogans using a microagglutination test was detected in five serum samples out of one hundred samples (five percent) at a dilution of one to one hundred or more. One sample was positive against Leptospira grippotyphosa, two samples against Leptospira Icterohaemorrhagiae, and two samples against Leptospira hardjo. There were no positive samples against Leptospira canicola and Leptospira pomona. This study showed that the Leptospira bacterium is present in the apparently healthy camel population in South Kerman. Considering the everincreasing use of camel meat and dairy products in humans, as well as causing economic losses in the country's livestock industry, this issue can be an alarm for the veterinary organization and the Ministry of Health.
